Etwas ist jemandem pipe: eine Sache ist einem egal, man interessiert sich nicht dafür. Pipe ist die niederdeutsche Form von ›Pfeife‹ im Sinne von Flöte. Indem man nun auf eine Sache pfeift, drückt man seine Mißachtung ihr gegenüber aus: man sagt auch: Das ist mir pip(en)-schnurz-egal. Wurst, Pfeife, Flötekies.
